Buying in Kilcock

Hi all, my boyfriend and I are planning on buying in Kilcock, ideally a new build in Ledwill park, and we're wondering about the commute and what Kilcock is like as an area.

We have visited it recently and it appears to be very quiet which we don't mind, would most people living there go to Maynooth to socialise and get to know people?

We're also wondering about the commute, does it take long to get the train from Kilcock to Connolly station? How frequent are trains?

I would also be driving to Drumcondra for the first few months for 8am and I'm wondering if anyone knows how long that would take?

    Thanks :)

Hey, have you been able to preview one of the houses in Ledwill?
I have been wondering about these too however we won't be ready to buy till next year i think.... not sure if this is the last phase?

According to google maps commute to Connolly should take 35 mins but im currently in south county so no clue about real-times.

Kilcock is a reasonably quiet village that has grown a lot in the last few years.
Unfortunately, public transport hasn't yet caught up.
Train to Connolly would be a bit less than 1h but could be pretty packed up.
Bus Eireann (115) would be a bit longer if you get a seat.
You'll find the timetables on respective sites but if I remember correctly, at peak it's around 2 per hour.
If you want more, getting it in Maynooth is a possibility ( and you can also get Dublin bus there)
Driving to Dublin or Drumcondra at peak time is anywhere from 1h30 to whatever.
Traffic slow down can start before the Maynooth exit and continue bumper to bumper until Dublin.
I used to commute on a motorcycle so I didn't really care but I did witness it.

I like Kilcock. Amenities are there (SuperValu, Lidl, small Tesco, few takeaways and restaurants ...). And Maynooth is close enough for more (although traffic can be pretty bad).
If you make abstraction of the traffic (and own a car), Liffey valley, Blanchardstown, Naas, Dublin, ... are all in the range of a first generation Nissan Leaf 😂 so not that far away.

We bought in Kilcock several years ago as priced out of maynooth and other areas. Neither of us commute to the city centre so can’t comment on that

Depends on who we socialise with where we go. Could be kilcock and walk home or maynooth and taxi. We use Lidl kilcock and Tesco delivery for most shopping. The rye river and timeless are the go to cafes for us although I like the Black Forest bakery when I’m on my own. Our son is in the Gael Scoil now and we’re happy

Is it true that all the houses in Fenton green went to the council? Seems a bit excessive if so, great houses so close to town centre.
