Had trouble cancelling too, finally had it done today on phone. Only option is to call 1901 and go through the automated stuff and just wait for agent to pick up. 30 days notice is from today.

You can write a letter to them. They have a template here https://www.eir.ie/cancelling/

If you are changing provider though you should provide the UAN to new provider so they can take over the services.. In that case you shouldn't even have to tell eir.

EDIT: Just noticed you cant write letter anymore and now there is an online form.

There is an online cancellation form:
    https://www.eir.ie/support/online-forms/cancellations/

As usual with Eir there is no guarantee that they will actually cancel your service but at least if you have completed the form then you have proof of your cancellation. If you have further issues you have to go through their Customer Loyalty Team - the most inappropriately named dept in history!
