You can be disqualified for up to 9 weeks if you leave voluntarily.

so if i leave of my own accord with notice i would be unable to claim for 9 weeks?

It's up to the discretion of the deciding officer, but potentially, depending on your reasonings for leaving.

Not necessarily. I left my job on a Friday in February and had my payment approved the following Tuesday.

It all depends on the situation. The deciding officer. Why you left your job. What type of job was it.

Ieft a call centre which is obviously very common people leaving etc cause of stressful environment. They went very easy on me and approved the payment within days.

Apply immediately, don't ask any questions they'll let you know :)
