    Hi,

How can I transport a 12 foot long ladder in a car, needs to go on motorway? Have a 2009 Saab 93 and Nissan X Trail.

Is it safe and legal to use ratchet straps and put it on the roof?
Will measure interiors, is is legal if part of the ladder is sticking out the boot (with boot tied down as much as possible?
    Thanks,
    Pa.

Once it's strapped down and won't come off your good to go....

If it's sticking back from the rear tie a rag on it.
