Went to see a 09 mondeo today 1.8 diesel and there was diesel pumping out from the engine. He said they just had replaced an injector in the car , could it be done wrong and that’s why it’s leaking ?

If this is a car you are thinking of buying move on the next one. there couldn't be a shortage of mondeos on the market.

I'd look at a different mondeo if I were you, i'm speaking from experience. Google 1.8TDI mondeo injector issues, specifically around 2008 - 2010.

Google any car and you will buy a bus pass ;)

With the Mondeo specifically the 2.0 TDCi is more reliable on the Mk 4.

Would be nicer to drive too.

On a 1.8 TDCI you want to see evidence (receipts) of the wet belt being changed recently.

Expensive job to do as a precaution and they DO fail.

Just find a nice 2 litre diesel instead imo.

Of course that is true, you will find a history of problems with many cars if you search hard enough. However there are specific known issues with this particular engine and year that are definitely worth knowing. And as previous poster says there's also the wet belt to consider.
