Mobile data not working on iPad using Pay as you go

    Hi

    I’ve purchased a new iPad direct from Apple. I currently don’t have broadband in my home and was hoping to use a Vodafone pay as you go sim with unlimited data.
    Mobile data works fine on this sim when I use it in my phone but is not working when I switch it over to the IPAD.
    Any idea what might be wrong here?
    Furthermore when I insert a Vodafone bill sim into the iPad mobile data works fine.

    Vodafone probably seeing IPad as a data device and routing data through a chargeable APN. If there's no excess credit than connection is refused.

    Check your usage on the bill pay SIM to make sure you weren't charged for data from the IPad...it may or may not be included...check terms of the contract.

    Can you tether the iPad to a phone with PAYG SIM?

    Called Vodafone and they just needEd to make it a data only sim. This is fine for me as all I need it for is the iPad.

    AFAIK VF will set it as a broadband SIM on a broadband plan that won't be unlimited. Their PAYG broadband plans are 20e for 20GB. If you register the SIM for My Vodafone, you will be able to see what plan they have applied.
