That's twice now where passes have gone to ground near Edinburgh's line. Criminal play from Ulster.

Their lineout drive was stopped at source a few phases earlier too.

Clowns. Same crap last week turning down a high percentage kick when down by a try in the first half.

Huge mental boost to Edinburgh from surviving that.

Edinburgh are absolutely tearing Ulster's maul apart.

But they'll still keep trying it.

Oh Ulster. You should be 10 ahead at least.

Ulster arena shambles at set piece. Stopped at source again and when Herring detached to run it looked like his support players didn't know what he was doing.

Edinburgh are penalty machines. Ulster are being given every opportunity to be ahead.

Burns kicks for touch are excellent

Ulster's best chance is Edinburgh's poor discipline.

They look like a group who only met a few weeks ago. That maul and failed breakaway was a mess. No cohesion or support at any point.

Jordi Murphy looks exceptionally underpowered. He's a shadow of the guy who was starting openside for Ireland in some big matches.

Edinburgh are such shîtes when it comes to penalties, good to see Frank not standing for a lot of their stuff.

Cooney has been crap since the restart.

Even his passing has been muck. The one that Burns spilled (and should have held) was p*ss poor and he's just thrown another off first phase that looked like a flanker threw it.

Knock on by Bradbury, all officials missing the fact he was on his knees.

Great kick from Lyttle. Was a good opportunity for a counter but I think the pass from Carter crippled the chance to go wide quickly.

That's a great steal from Watson, but one which Ulster should have dealt with. There were two players around Ludik(?) when he caught it. That should have been enough to clear out Watson.

Watson again with a great turn over.
Ulster losing the breakdown by a big margin

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

I would have counted Watson part of the tackle on ludik

Ulster falling off tackles, not cleaning out, underpowered all of the pitch

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,723 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Stockdale's defence has been a bit poo. Missed that tackle on Van Der Meter, then a few phases later shot out of the line and was sidestepped.

Big turnover there. Edinburgh were threatening.

Still any figure out any consistency on poached. Graham never disengaged from tackle earlier fir me no attempt to roll. Then Watson is leaning on his elbows not supporting his weight.

F*cking hell. Ditch the maul, lads. It's a mess.

Ulster actually defended really well for that passage. Great line speed, reset well after the half break and kept their shape through multiple phases. Shame they're so inept with the ball.

    Stop. Going. To. The. Maul.

    It isn't working.

    Ulster's maul. Good lord.

    Would Treadwell make any difference?

Likely not, wasn't much better against Leinster. They're just missing Henderson big time as a caller and jumper.

    Put it out you clowns.

Edinburgh very close to a walk off score there. They'll be disappointed with a 5 point lead going into the half I think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,583 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Hard to believe this is a semi-final. Ulster are a shambles at the set piece and not up to much with ball in hand either. Edinburgh on the other hand are just throwing ten sheets to the wind when it comes to discipline.

    David Nucifora
What were they doing at the end there?!

Edinburgh spurned another walk in. The difference between the sides is one very soft try of a 5m maul.

Ulster will take that scoreline at the break no bother. They've a chance to regroup, get their arses kicked in the shed and a decent bench to introduce.
