Wage Subsidy Scheme, Businesses taking advantage

So the new subsidy ewss is starting today.
Our hotel has announced hour & pay cuts.

All line staff have been put to 2.5/3days to ensure they will only be paid €203 by the government.. no top up by the hotel.

They will now hire more staff to ensure shifts are fully covered. These staff will also be on the subsidy scheme.

The long-term/full time staff are now asked to work 3 days while a new staff member comes in & covers their other hours.

How is this fair? How can the government allow companies to do this?

It allows companies to take full advantage.
(They are in a bad way financially but this taking the piss)

Anyone else finding themselves in similar situations

I believe there are safeguards in place to prevent this from happening.

If you look in the coronavirus section - there's a thread on TWSS that's discussing the EWSS and the safeguards or just put EWSS into the search bar
