Was wondering why he was down to play in the Connaught stroke play this weekend coming.

Thought he would have to be back in college in stage states.
John Murphy won another tournament last weekend

Power has decided to remain in Ireland and can continue his studies online. He is in his second year in Wake Forest university in the US.

John Murphy on the other hand has decided to return to the US to Louisville University in late July, and as you said he did claim another collegiate success in the US over the weekend. The Kinsale man also won the Payne Stewart Award, one of the best US collegiate golf awards and will play in the Byron Nelson championship in the Pga tour next year as reward for his top performances there. He has decided to remain in college for an additional year and all being well he will graduate from university next spring.

Mounting calls this morning for 2019 amateur champion James Sugrue to receive an invite for next week's Irish Open. Lee Westwood, one of James' playing partners for the first two rounds in the US Open, spoke of his "surprise" that the Mallow golfer has yet to receive an invite for next week's event in Galgorm Castle.

The issue here is that he would be flying into Dublin airport rather than into Belfast, with of course more stringent measures 're quarantine in The Republic compared to the North.

Hopefully we may get further developments on this story and I for one will be pressing the F5 button, for the updated entry list throughout the day.

News that James Sugrue has been added to the Irish Open entry list this morning. Fair play to Lee Westwood though for calling for James' inclusion in the Irish Open field. Well done Lee.

Extraordinary performance by the 2019 British amateur champion, Mallow's finest James Sugrue. He has just shot a 3 under par round of 67 and in the top 5 at present. Could he do a Lowryesque performance in Galgorm Castle this week, like what Shane did in Baltray in 2009 and win the Irish Open as an amateur? Here's hoping.
