Cancelling Spotify

I no longer have my Spotify account sign in details or email password so my account is still active and being charged but can’t listen to music. Obviously I can’t sign into my account to cancel without these details. Is it ok to just cancel direct debit with bank or would I still owe Spotify as I didn’t officially cancel with them?

You'll just get an email from Spotify asking you to update your payment details, they stop providing the service when you stop paying so you won't be in arrears

Thanks don’t even have my original email address password I used to set up Spotify as details were saved on old phone so I’ll just cancel direct debit

Oh, I thought Spotify had been cancelled. Maybe some of the graphics were too white.

Email support, explain the situation.,they'll ask you to send a screenshot of the transaction receipt, job done.

I thought that, they spent 2 months trying to take money off the revolut card, they eventually succeeded, I wouldn't be in a rush to use them again.

No they’ll hunt you down and make you listen to 26 hours of Norah Jones & The Corrs as punishment. Just pay what you owe and everything will be fine

Have to say this kind of streaming is a godsend to me when you think back to the early 2000s with limewire, kazaa and the likes. Download each track individually and then burn to a CD-R/RW and listen on your walkman and in later years Ipod Mini etc

It was hardship trying to edit details and find artwork

Before that time it was cassette and record off the radio, still remember CD singles

I thought this was gonna be someone complaining about Spotify's aggressive promotion of the Michelle Obama podcast.

If they’ve been charging you for 2 months and you haven’t been able to use the service they’ll charge back up to 3 months. You just need to make a decent case with support

I've cancelled Spotify for YouTube. Little more a month - 12 instead of 10 - but it's audio plus videos. Liking it a lot.

I was thinking of doing similar. But then I'd be giving in to YouTube's increasingly 'bullying' where they interrupt videos randomly, as well as just before the start. I don't mind the pre-interruption, but once the video starts...let it finish!!!
