Asking How The Panel's Progressing?

Hi. I'd appreciate your take on this. 2 months ago I had an interview for an entry level position in museum. I was informed a month later that I had successfully progressed and been placed third on a panel. I was asked at that time if I was happy to proceed with pre-hiring checks (references, medical examination etc). I immediately went back to them and confirmed, and asked if there was anything needed to assist the process, to let me know.

I haven't heard anything back yet, but I was wondering if it would be perceived as rude or irritating to get back in touch to ask how the process (i.e. the panel) is progressing?

    Your opinions are much appreciated.

Perfectly fine to ask how the panel is progressing.

Thanks for your input. I'll check back in with them in a week or two, as I realise everyone's super busy reacting to Covid related issues.
