Getting cancellation for driving test post-Covid?

Has anyone had any luck in getting a cancellation since the tests have resumed?

I'm hoping to move county in the next 2 months and having my license to help me do that, and would give me more range for finding a job.

I am going to start ringing them once or twice a day starting tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll be able to find something for myself.

I have been ringing the test centre a few times a week for the last few weeks in an attempt to try and get a quick test but with no luck. The people I’ve had answering the phone give the impression there is very little chance of gaining a cancellation test at the moment. What type of response have you got yourself?

I actually rang them once, earlier today, and got a cancellation on the spot for next Wednesday. Super soon and I’m really afraid I haven’t done enough practice so I’m going to go all out practicing starting tomorrow!

That’s some result. Can I ask did you ring the RSA number or your local test centre?

I have ABSOLUTELY no idea. I think they're setting me up for a quick fail so they can run off with my 85 euro!

Do they not even put you on hold? You should try to keep going through the options until you get through to an agent and just ask about a cancellation. I was put on hold initially for 25 minutes, gave my number to the lady, and as soon as I did she said she has a cancellation. Maybe the fact I rang on a Monday, or people are afraid of traffic when school's back?

I have no idea, I got incredibly (un)lucky, depending on how it goes for me.

Hopefully it's the stars aligning for a quick and easy pass for me

I’ve been calling most days and some days you have to ring a few times to get through. Gets awkward when it’s the same phone operator telling you no everyday.

Yeah, I’ve also been told nope. But I’ll keep on ringing every day if I need to.
