    Hello all,

As the title says, I'm looking for any thoughts on a '08 A4 1.8T FSI petrol. Car has 100k miles, it's English.
Service history to 76k miles and 5 stamps in the book. I think I could have it cleared for around €3k.
My initial research suggests oil burning and tensioner issues.
As always I'm looking for something hassle free so I like to err on the side of caution!
    If it's a gamble I'm out!
Any thoughts, opinions or otherwise appreciated.

If you're getting a car across the Irish Sea, getting it properly checked out and paying vrt all for 3k you're buying a very cheap car from another country in the premium segment 12 years old of course its a gamble. Could be fine of course but I'm suggesting you could easily put half that into the car again to fix a few issues in first few months.
I'm an Audi man myself and up to a few years ago I bought older premium cars for peanuts and generally got lucky with them. Just get it well checked out, I always did and it paid dividends.

Love that engine but it does need to be looked after re oil changes. Issue with oil pickup in the sump (on earlier ones anyway).
