I have two sets of dumbbells at home (10KG and 15KG)

I can do 20-25 reps with the 10s and 6-8 reps with the 15s.

Is it better to use the heavier ones even though I can't go very long with them?

Yeah I would use the 15s and just try to gradually increase the number of reps you can do with them until you can get heavier weights.
