    Hi there,

My uncle has a small beef and sheep farm. (70 acres, no employees, 60 sheep and maybe 20 cattle) Very limited purchases etc.

He is trying to organise a few quotes for the cost of preparing accounts and completing tax return.

Does anyone know how much it would generally cost to prepare accounts for his size of operations?

    Thanks

About 700 euro? Including Vat reclaim if necessary.

I know a lot of people moan about the price of the accountant but if you can’t sort it out yourself, it great peace of mind to know that everything is in order.

Ya in the 500-700 euro mark. With that level of stocking it fairy simple accounts. If he can get him to pay ESB and Phone off the farm account by DD or online by pay a bill. Keep his car and fuel receipts. Of the two main firms FDC is a better for his type of operation. 6-700 inc vat should be there charges.

A lot of it with accounts is organisation. If you can pay as much as possible by car through the farm account it makes it way easier on the accountant.
