Motor Tax: WLTP vs NEDC

Sorry if this question has been asked already, but can someone clarify this for me.

In this report, it says that way of measuring Co2 g/km is changing from NEDC to WLTP, from 2020.

    https://data.oireachtas.ie/ie/oireachtas/parliamentaryBudgetOffice/2019/2019-09-13_an-analysis-of-the-sustainability-of-vehicle-registration-and-motor-tax_en.pdf

Now, we are in 2020 and as far I know, the revenue are still using the older NEDC figures. Can someone confirm?

What if someone bought the car in 2019, which say was Toyota RAV4? They are paying €190 road tax currently but that could rise to €270 per year.

    NEDC Co2: 105 g/km
    WLTP Co2: 129 g/km

The RAV4 isn't too bad really, but there are other cars out there that can be really stung.

Granted, perhaps Covid-19 has put this on the back burner for a bit, but are we all going to get stung for more tax?

If the changes will be like previous it will only be new purchased cars after they change. So if you have a car currently you will still pay what you currently pay.
