Nissan Juke 2014, 1.5 diesel, EGR problem

    Hey guys,

A friend of mine has a problem with his Nissan Juke. The description is below, could anyone please provide some advice?

I have the engine maintenance light going off every time I get above 40kmph. Mechanic tells me it’s the same issue constantly, the EGR, and recommends I get it removed. (Replacement too pricey, cleaning doesn’t always work)

It’s a diesel Nissan Juke, with 260,000 km on the clock.
    I’ve two questions:
*Anyone else remove the EGR, and any problems/regrets?!
*If I remove the EGR, does it affect the DPF?! Have seen someone online say that the DPF can’t work without the EGR valve in place? Any truth in that?!

    Really appreciate any thoughts!
