Looking at upgrading my 2007 Audi A4 1.9.
It killing me on tax and insurance. I'm looking to come up a few years and get inside the lower tax bracket without spending a fortune on a car.
    I was looking at a 2011 Mazda 6 ( https://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/mazda/mazda6/fpa/202008062177046?journey=Search)

Has anyone good or bad experiences? Anything to especially look out for to avoid buying a lemon?
There's no price on the one linked so I'll give the dealer a ring, but any guesses to its worth?

    Avoid. They’re a ball.

Only ever had 1 problem with my 2011 Mazda and thats the DPF, which i had removed.

I love it, despite what colm_mcm says :D

Have a Mazda 6 Estate, haven't had any major problems. DPF light is on regularly but I don't believe its anything other than a service indicator at this stage.

Have replaced parts like brake discs and control arm but that is due to age (198K) and previous owner living beside the sea (rust issues).

I have read numerous threads with people having seroius engine trouble with the 2.2L diesels. I have not been unlucky in that respect but their horror stories are bad enough to nearly put me off rolling the dice on another one.

DPF issues, sump/oil pickup blockages, sump/engine contamination with diesel, timing chain issues are all very common on the 2.2 diesel Mazda
Like all problematic cars, and as Shiny & Vicaxs have posted above, not all cars suffer from these problems, but definitely a car well worth educating yourself about before purchasing and probably better off avoiding, hence Colm and mk7r's posts.
