Hello..I’m from Dublin and live in Dublin..I am looking at buying a Car in Belfast..If I register the car at a friends address in Belfast and use his address for my insurance..also I have a UK driving license from a few years ago..WOULD I GET AWAY WITH DRIVING IT DOWN HERE ON N.I. REGISTRATION AND NOT PAYING VRT?? If customs stop me and I produce a UK license, would that satisfy them?? Would they check on me through my PPS NUMBER and see that I really live in Dublin?? Thanks in advance..I’m new to this.

I think you might run into issues with insurance - you'll be asked to declare where the car is parked overnight.

Wouldn’t get away with saying it’s parked at his address??

With the UK licence you’ll have no bother so long as nothing happens the car at your house.
