what companies in Ireland would get your business, the ones who follow all the latest trends like the shelbourne taking down the statues or the ones who dont get carried away in BLM and same sex marriage, repeal the 8th and whatever else is most popular with the public.

for me id have more respect for the ones who dont jump on every popular bandwagon, and I would be more likely to give my business to them, im not talking about businesses who are anti BLM or same sex marriage, just the ones who dont suddenly start becoming aware of racism in 2020 when they didnt seem to care in 2019.

A decent enough price and one that has staff who don’t mind helping customers with simple requests.

I like genuine businesses that provide good service at a decent price. If they are also attempting to align with my values, that’s a bonus.

is it though? are they not just saying what they think people want to hear? where is the value in that? how would you not have more respect for a business that doesn't become a sheep because everyone else is? like I have to say I have more respect for say some politician who disagrees with whatever his party is in favor of and steps down because of that, that takes guts and shows they have certain principles they stand by.

Nothing makes me respect a person or business more than when I catch them doing goodwith no fanfare.

Nothing makes me disrespect them more than when they announce they are doing good at something fashionable.

It is hard to know how it will work out for businesses but I cant stand a virtue signalling business and will give my custom to other businesses.

The people who protest and campaign for these popular movement are very vocal and seen but maybe the majority of the population don't really care about the likes of BLM protests and taking down statues.

People will bow to say/do almost anything if they think that it might effect the bottom line.
The top guys in Anglo went 10+ billion in the red because they were looking at 1/2 million bonuses. They then went 20+ billion in the red 'coz they thought they'd lose their 1/2 million a year jobs. Imagine bankrupt ing a country coz you don't want to lose your job.
Facebook /Twitter/Tripadvisor etc have alot power. All bow to Facebook and whatever eigits are triggered on it. If your business is targeted on Facebook you're in for a bumpy ride for awhile.

"Align with my values" is pure corporate hokum. I'll revert to you after we touch base, etc...only a nimrod willingly adopts such obtuse speak into their everyday lingo.
