Damage on car.. cause?

    Hi all, today I spotted the damage shown on my car. No idea how this could have happened, it's in an unusual location in front of the rear wheel arch and tyre and the mark is deep. Any ideas?

    Hi, not that I'm aware of, but the car is six years old and I've only had it for a year.

    Yeah, maybe it cracked or maybe something tipped it and it broke but it looks like it's been filled before.
