    Hi,

My mothers 2007 Yaris was acting strange through gear changes (high revs). The car is 1 owner from new only about 50k miles on it and regularly serviced. The gearbox (not sure on technical name) allows automatic and also manual up and down of gears. Anyway she brought it to main Toyota garage today. They took it out and reckon gearbox is on way out and quoted her €1k to repair.

Any ideas/thoughts on this and its pricing please? How much roughy would this be from an independent mechanic?

    Thank you

That sounds cheap for the repair, multimode box on it, very troublesome, I fount an independent will be able to fix it

I’m surprised they haven’t tried to recalibrate it.

The box itself is a regular manual, box, I’d imagine it’s the automation gubbins that’s gone wrong.
