Currently interested in ripping my CD collection to Flac, and was wondering about a competitively priced unit to connect to a pair of Cambridge Audio SX80 floor standers?

Budget would be around £300 or so.

    Hi NIMAN,

    Thanks for the post!

You could get a good streaming amplifier to do this for you!

I would recommend the Yamaha RN602 which is a great sounding amplifier with analogue and digital inputs but also has a network streamer built in! It will stream FLAC files at 24Bit/192kHz and as it has Musiccast built in you can add other Yamaha networked devices to the system as you go and connect wierelssly!

It's a bit over budget at £379 but will drive your floorstanders well and will give you a great sound!

Let me know what you think of this option!

    Kind regards

    David
