New job

Been offered a new job which I accepted because I don't have anything else for the moment.

I have a few more interviews before the new job starts. But will probably be in the new job if I get any offers from these interviews.

So what if these interviews and other jobs turn out better? I hate leaving a new job and especially a few weeks into the job.

Has anyone left a new job a few weeks in for something better?

It's all an if at this stage but it's something I should think about anyway.

It happens. But be prepared to burn bridges with the company you have accepted your current job with.

If you are happy with the job offer you have (pay, hours, culture, work etc.) then I don’t think you’d even be considering these other jobs, especially as you don’t even sound sure if they ARE better jobs.

I don’t think there’s any harm attending the interviews and keeping your options open (especially in the current climate and with job security so tenuous) but I do think you need to have a chat with yourself and decide, under what circumstances would you leave the job you have. Because a small pay bump might not be worth it in the long run if you damage your reputation.

I completely understand the guilt you feel.

But remind yourself the company would fire you in a second if it suited them.

If you get one of the other jobs, be honest with your employer. Tell them it's a job you really wanted, and you feel terrible leaving like this.

The company will be ok as it's an employers market right now and they can get a new hire in a second.
