Xbox shuts off while playing Star Wars

Just downloaded Star Wars battle front 2 and my Xbox one x shut off due to “overheating” meanwhile it has a ton of room and isn’t cramped. I just uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Could it be from the game downloading a corrupted file? This also happened to me with borderlands 2 dlc reinstalled it and it worked fine.

Think this is a dried thermal paste issue. Good news is its fixable, bad news is you have to open up your xbox.

Plenty of guides on YouTube but it's straightforward enough once you have the right tools and an appropriate cleaning solution.

If you've never worked on a pc build or anything before it might seem quite daunting but honestly it's a bit like an expensive hunk of lego. I've you apply the new thermal paste the system will be noticeably quieter.
