Met a local lad last night mid 30s, married and works in local factory , wife works in office job. Both earning circa 30K . Bought a house 3 years ago for 250K, 3 bed semi. Has a mortgage for 30 years at 1100 a month. With childcare and car loans which they both need to go to work he tells me he hasnt a bean and both of them are flat out working albeit it in unskilled types of work.
Across the road from him there are three families who never worked paying micky mouse money for the same houses to live in as rent to the council circa 40 euro a week . How is all of this right, the lad i was talking to and his wife be as well give up working???

Why are you blaming the families across the road instead of FG and FF?

Do you think by turning those families out your friend will have to pay less? More likely not.

I think you need to turn your attention to the actual problem and turn your dissatisfaction to the people who are the cause of the problem.

We have been blaming people on welfare for years ..so has FG and FF are things any better for any of us NO.

So keep on doing the same thing ..you get the same results.

TO answer your question...no .its not right. But bringing in the unrelated topic of council housing is redundant.

Also council housing HELPS LOWER the prices of private houses. Because if all the people in council housing were ALSO searching for houses ..then the prices would go up.

There is nothing wrong with living in council housing.
