Xiaomi is much bigger and more established

You couldn’t be more wrong, it is other way around.
Realme- BBK group ie same as OnePlus and Oppo ,they would be biggest phone manufacturer in the world. And yes , they have their own factories for making phones , unlike Xiaomi .

You are talking absolute rubbish. They are not the biggest phone manufacturer by a long shot.

Maybe even bigger than Huawei, apparently.

Software wise having switched from Xiaomi to Realme they are very similar, find the new realme os to have very little bloatware compared to Xiaomis Miui software.

Have the x2 pro myself and love it, as always changed out the camera app added YouTube vanced job done.

MIUI - dreadful software , it is tends to be glitchy regardless
top of the range SoC they are using . .
And the worst part - MIUI - only One thing done by Xiaomi itself apart from the Logo , their phones designed and produced by third parties ( sometimes by BBK )

So... as regards mobile phone brands... yes they are... as regards conglomerates that do all sorts of technology and own various sub brands they aren’t.

Below data from idc on world’s biggest phone brands... but not here for argument. Xiaomi is the forth biggest

Might be worth noting that the Sony Xperia 1 mark 2 is 5g capable but costs £1099 on Amazon UK. I'm holding out hope that the Xperia 5 mark 2 will have 5g but stay in a 3 figure price.

    This too shall pass.

Three have only validated a handful of devices for 5G, primarily the ones that they sell in their shop, iPhone 12, Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20, TCL 10, Oppo Renzo4 Z. and Huawei P40 Pro. I'm not aware of any others that well get 5G on Three.

I bought a Xiaomi Mi 10t from Belsimpel in Holland last month, it has no problem using Three's 5g.

Do you have a 5g Add on for your phone plan? (its an extra €4.92 pm as a add on.)

I love it, except for the weight , it's 219 grams. Other than that, it'd the first Xiaomi I've owned, and I like the UI. I had been using a oneplus 8 and I prefer the UI much more on the Mi 10t Pro.

I'm back using the OP8 though, as they finally sorted out 5G and mine is working on three 5g.

Belsimpel were great to deal with, I ordered mine just before Christmas, didn't expect to see it until the New year, and was amazed on Christmas Eve morning to say I'd have it that day. In fact, I'm looking to buy the Mi 11 when its available and I'll probably look to get it from them.

thanks for prompt reply, I was looking at the OP8T and I like the amoled 120hz display, read the camera is not on par with mi 10

only concern I have with both phones is if I will havwe issues with 5G connectivity, I read Eir is on N78 band and mi 10 has below supported network bands, you have much knowledge on this area??

    Supported network bands

    5G: n1/n3/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n41/n77/n78

Yeah, at the moment all Irish operators are using n78 and there are moves afoot to use n20 in the near future which I think would allow for carrier aggregation (connecting to different bands at the same time, its what LTE+ does on 4g at the moment).

I got mine delivered to my Apt, and I got no 5g straight away, but I had to go into the office on the 6th of January and it was working once I got there.. Last monday week I noticed 5g was working at my home on the Mi10t pro, it seems three must have done something, and its been 500/600 Mbt/s ever since. The Belsimperl Mi 10t Pro is the EU model, so I'd say you should have no issues.

Oneplus are strange, I got mine (Oneplus 8) back in may from EU Global, it was the Chinese model with the flashed global rom, I think that may only support n78 though, anyway, when Three launched 5G it didn't work. Theres a thread on here, discussing the issue, anyway, made contact with 3, no joy. Made contact with Oneplus, no joy. Then just got an update last week, tried the Sim in it, and It worked.

thanks for reply, thats good news with oneplus update, nothing worse than waiting on that update to fix issues, I might just wait for MI 11 and pull the trigger on it,

    stay safe and thanks :)

The Oneplus 8 hasn't been a great experience, Granted the one I got was cheap, but its Global version seems more like its aimed at the Indian market.

The latest problem with it, is that if I use 5G, no calls get through to me, the caller hears a ringing tone, but my phone doesn't ring, and theres no notification of a missed call.It seems the phone is incapeable of going back down to 2/3g from 5g if a call comes through, whereas it does if you just force it to use 4g, it'll probably take another software update to fix.

I was on to Belsimpel last week, they think they will probably ship their first Mi 11 around the first/second week in March, saying prices are €800-€900, so I'm thinking they may not offer the 128Gb model, and the place holders on the site are all for 256Gb models also.

The only niggling doubt I have about the phone is that the Battery might be a tad on the low side what with the 1440 screen. Also the overheating, however as I'm not into gaming, that might not be much of an issue.

If you had the european version I wonder would you have the same issues??
I like the reveiws on the mi 11 but would rather the 128gb version, some spec on it for the money, I would feel guilty paying €800-€900 on a phone, but maybe the price of mi 10T pro might drop a bit soon ?, oneplus have anything new on the horozin do ye know??

I just decided to stay on 4G and bought sim only with 48 yesterday for my p20 pro, do me for a while and see wwhat price the mi 11 comes in at.
