Consider this hypothetical scenario: someone genrously offers you 5 billion euros, but only on the precondition that you repay them 15 billion, is that a good deal?

That sounds like a horrible deal. Surely no one in their right mind would agree to such a deal

Hypothetically that depends on a number of equally hypothetical factors
    1) How urgently do I need this €5B?
    2) Can I get it anywhere else, under more favorable conditions?
    3) When do I need to pay it back? (Lump sum, installments etc)
    4) Hypothetically
    5) How do I need to pay it back? (Cash, assets etc)

Do you want an AH answer?

No it's not a good deal and I am outraged

    OUTRAGED

Now, fess up - what is this about? ;)

Could you take the 5 billion. Invest it in interest savings accounts and live off that while paying back the amount to 15billion

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

Take the 5 Bill and retain 100 mill for legal actions to prevent the 15 Bill recovery, until death.
