As a retirement hobby and supplement income I am considering registering for film extra work. It would seem the agencies charge a fee for registering. I would have thought if the agency was confident in their ability to supply work then they would wait and make their income from commission for work supplied...does anyone have knowledge of this industry in ireland??

The moneys not great by any means, it's barely pocket money, some aren't paid at all, you would just be doing it for the fun of it. You could be asked to be in any part of the country for any specific time of the day or night, youre under no obligation to sign yourself up to any role, you get a text with general info and requirements for each 'job' and asked if you can attend. It's straight forward enough.

I never did but they got my number from an open call audition where I signed up for free. If youre registering online im not sure if theres anyway of getting around the fees.
