Property Tax twice in One year

I pay property tax by direct debit and up to now, they deducted on March 21 for the previous year.

This year they deducted the DD on the 1st of April for year 2019 but yesterday they deducted for this year.

what happened ?

DD just seems to be appearing on the 21/7, nothing deducted in March or April for me. I’m sure there was a letter issued saying they were pushing the date out for deductions to July this year.

I’ve always paid the year it’s due. Normally at the end of the year (say 2019) you have to indicate how you’re going to pay the coming year (2020). Money taken for 2020 seems normal to me.

what happened ?

I believe previously agreed DD for march this year were not taken by revenue due to covid and was delayed until now.

I had mine setup to debit my bank account and payment didnt go through today. Logged on to Revenue and it now says I have no payment method setup, even though I have the confrimation letter from Revenue with my bank account details.

what happened ?

You may need to double check, Revenue announced 2 deferrals of payments via direct Debit because of the Covid-19 crisis, they also advised by email that the new date was today and mine went out. They did not take payment as was expected last March, again this was well flagged.
