VRT query

    Hi guys & girls

I'm considering taking my car home from the Uk when I move back later this year.

    It's a 2007 reg Mazda 6 4 door saloon.

I tried the VRT calculator but I can't seem to find a match for it.

I'm trying to see if it's worthwhile taking it back as someone told me I could get stung for a four figure sum and the car's not even worth that.

I'm able to get the g/km figure off my logbook though.

Is there a facility where you can email for a proper estimate on the VRT?

    Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

If it’s a transfer of residence, you shouldn’t be liable for VRT or NOX.

Would make sense to upgrade your car now and keep 6 months and import tax free if that ties in with your timeline.

Thanks. Any idea where I apply for the transfer of residence?

I'd also do the MOT the as soon to departure date then when registered in Ireland, send MOT off to NCT to get it transferred to NCT. That's if NCT continue to do this at end of year
