Deliveroo - I will almost always bypass it and go to the restaurant / establishment directly and order from them, so that they’ll drive it here themselves.

Deliveroo, in my experience, the food always arrives stone cold, or lukewarm at best, and in bad condition. The cardboard box it comes in is usually wet if it’s raining, or the food has went a weird rubbery texture from being hot inside the riders bag.

The cycling is a shambles. They never seem to deliveroo to Ashtown area on scooters.

Restaurants directly or JustEat deliver in a car. And the food is in an acceptable, professional state, and mostly still warm.

Would be mortified if the neighbours saw them pulling up on their bicycles outside my gaff with all of their branding. Only to take out a hot pink bag, further declaring I’m eating from some hipster hole! Can’t beat the anomnity of a brown bag

I've never had a bad experience with them, not even once.

Stone cold or Lukewarm at best? every time?

Sometimes people will find problems where they want to.

Deliveroo is fine, but they should be paying their staff properly.

Delivery on bicycle is the only issue I have with them. Food all smashed around and mixed up.

I have actually never ordered food from Deliveroo. I suppose I’m old school and prefer to phone up and order directly if and when I’m ordering in.

In the couple of years up to the Covid-19 lockdown, the sheer number of Deliveroo and Just Eat delivery people in bikes around the place led me to think that an awful lot of people can’t - or just won’ t - cook their own dinners at home.

They won’t pay them properly because there’s a chance they will never be profitable. Like Uber and other app based companies they focus on growth first and then when they have to make money to go public they will start to cut costs, ie wages

Why do some restaurants have a delivery fee on Deliveroo? It doesn't make sense to me.

Loads of reasons, the price you pay deliveroo is based on the distance from your house the more your away from the bussiness the more you pay

Then there is partners who don’t use there riders as it’s cheaper to have your own driver then use there own as it can cost the bussiness over 20% of the order fee the use there rider and so on

The partners can set there own delivery prices while a bussiness useing deliveroo rider can not

Let do people know the mark up these services charge is crazy, just it is 14% plus vat for every order a bussienss gets on the platform this is why some bussiness resther you call in and order as it costs them less

I can't really make sense of this sentence fully. But even where there is a fee a Deliveroo rider has shown up in my experience.
