    Why isn't this more commonplace?

Say a fella has a thirst on him for a pint while he's driving along. He has no option but to stop at a pub or an off licence, exit the car, and waste his valuable time walking to and from a premises.

    Time is money.

    This is a life-changing, time-saving business.

will you have warning contains cold drink as opposed to mcdonalds drive thru where they have warning hot contents.

how about a tube to drain away the piss. it will be like formula one pitstop, one hands the points the other attaches a tube to your nether regions.

saves valuable time trying to find a toilet.

Lads, this isn't about encouraging drink driving, this is about satisfying an urge for a cool, crisp, refreshing pint of beer. We need to change our attitudes here.

Cheers m8. I'm finalising my Investor Presentation at the moment, I'll fire it over to you along with the bank details as soon as it's ready.

My plan is to target service areas off major motorways and N roads near the cities, as well as large towns in rural Ireland.

I don't think McDonalds have warning labels on their cold drinks so probably not.

Why stop at the motorways and national roads. We should have them beside the schools as well. That way the mummies in their SUVs can have a nice cool glass of chardonnay after dropping the kids off at 8.45 and before she gets home for the first line of the morning. Plus the teachers would be able to pop in for a few double whiskeys to calm their nerves before the days teaching begins.

We should also set up these drive through pints at bus garages and train stations so the drivers can get themselves a nice cool crisp pint before they begin a hard days work. Taximen would be allowed to use them too.

Loads of Drive Thru "Bottle Shops" in Australia. So it's not that strange but more about bringing home of course.

I can LITERALLY see no problems with this whatsoever. Motorway toll plazas could double-up at this, that'd get it off the ground quickly.

Very true.I used to work in a massive drive through one in Sydney. Drive through pints would probably be an issue here though I think it's illegal to have open piss in a car.

Why would it be illegal? No such law exists you can drink all you want in the car as a passenger and once under the limit a driver can also drink.

Having one in the car on the way into town for a night is not an uncommon occurrence in my experience.

I'm not 100% sure I'm open to correction but I'm pretty sure even a passenger in a car isn't allowed have an "open" container of alcohol in the car. That's what a pub I know in Cork that was doing deliverys was told by a cop.

There’s no specific law prohibiting open containers of alcohol in vehicles in Ireland, or prohibiting passengers from drinking in a vehicle. Plenty of businesses offer party limos and party busses that include champagne or a bar.

Local by-laws prohibiting alcohol consumption in public could possibly prohibit it depending on circumstances, but I’d say that would be open to legal challenge.

The issue with pubs doing a delivery service is that their licence states where they can serve alcohol, and it’s likely not going to include the side of the road or the back of a van.

    Top Tip

I you can't find or reach a bottle opener while driving you can unbuckle your seatbelt and use the rectangular hole.

My car actually has a wine bottle holder in the back seats.

Is there one in America, N? I was always under the “impression” it was a law here but think I might have got it from something on tv from over there.
