Do I need to do a case study etc for a C1 licence?

Asking for a friend (I already have a C & C1 from years ago)
I've had a look at the FAQ, and a quick search of this forum.

A friend is looking at getting a campervan, possibly a larger one that requires a C1 licence.

They have no interest or intention of ever driving professionally.

Can they just do a theory test, get a C1 learner permit, do the 12 lessons and just do a driving test.

Or will they have to do anything else ?

Just curious about this myself today too for a camper. Had a quick look on the RSA website. For non-commercial drivers you just need to do the theory and practical test. No need for CPC.

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed.

I might even suggest that they do an automatic gear box as well , just to make it easier again.
