    Hi,

haven't bought a car in years but with no3 child on the way will be changing car over coming months. Am looking at a 2014/15 S-Max. Haven't driven Ford before but I see some S-Max have Zetec/Titanium. Anyone know which is better? Do approx 10k miles a year or little less. Will test drive a few before purchasing. New car will have to do me next 8-10 years! so will try & get one with a good spec. any advice/other suggestions appreciated.
    TIA

Titanium generally is higher spec than Zetec. 2.0 litre is much better than the 1.6 litre in a car of that size too. I'd also avoid the Power Shift automatic versions as they can give alot of trouble and are not cheap to repair. There was a model revamp in mid 2015 and these tend to have a more up to date interior.

Yes there was a significant revamp in 2015, but you are unlikely to find any Irish SMAX in the new shape only Imports. The effect of the revamp wasn't seen until 2016 here.

I might be able to get you 2 children for 15k, but 3 is pushing it.

Nothing against Fords in general but I would avoid an S-Max because they are relatively rare here with implications for spare parts availability ( second hand ). With three kids and all their stuff you should consider a VW Passat estate. They are ultra reliable, and have huge carrying capacity. My Passat 2litre diesel auto ( 171 ) does 54mpg and is a beautiful car to drive. It should be possible to find a good one for your budget, although with an annual mileage of only 10K it might be better to go for a petrol version. Good luck with the search.

Recently bought a Citroen Grand Spacetourer/Picasso. Our mileage is low as well so went for a petrol. Very little available in petrol here so you would need to look at uk. One linked below but it is base spec.
