    Question for the experts

Normally when external walls are plastered inside, do they require a dry line board to be attached to wall before skimming? The walls have 150mm cavity that is bead insulated already.

    Thank you

They do if this is a new build. As 150 bead isn’t sufficient to comply with current regs.

Watch the air tightness, you would best to plaster walls before boarding with insulation

Thank you. My house was started last July 2019. The regulations changed again after that as far as i know. At present all internal concrete block walls are getting gypsum hardcoat and smooth skim finish. Can an insulation board be put on after that or is it necessary? If so what type? Main reason I ask is would it help to improve U-value by doing so ? Just asking the question.

    Thank you.

I’d go with 50pir. Get your engineer to calculate what’s required for code compliance first.
