Bulge in laminate flooring

This bulge appeared in our floor today (or at least, I noticed it today). It's in the kitchen.

Does this look consistent with water damage, when water has been allowed to pool on top of the surface for a long time?

    Is laminate usually glued together?

I would need to remove 3 pieces to get to the damaged pieces, trying to figure out if this will be easily done without damaging the floor. I know that the flooring doesn't go the whole way to the wall, it only goes about 4 or 5 inches underneath the kitchen kickboards.

Try drying it out first before lifting as it might save you a bit of bother if it shrinks back into place again. I've heard several suggestions on how best to dry the laminate ranging from hair dryer to hot water bottle. But using something warm and possibly combined with a wee bit of weight on it should help with restoring it.

Laminate is not glued together. Some are tongued and grooved others click into place.
