Selling to a dealer

What should you expect if you sell to a dealer, in terms of paperwork etc.? If I'm selling my car and some wannabe dealer wants my logbook, what should they be presenting if they are reputable? I don't want to hand it over to someone and potentially have problems arise later.

You need to see a copy of their garage code as issued by department of environment , or proof of online transfer of ownership to dealer screen shot from online system. Otherwise put another name(theirs) on the book and post.
