Was supposed to meet someone at 1pm about a car. Agreed that yesterday evening, rang again at 10.30 and all was sound, asked him to send eircode when he could, said he would but didnt get that and no contact since, not replying to calls or texts so just had to leave it

For those with more experience buying, does this happen often with DoneDeal sellers who are for a better word anonymous? Nothing against DoneDeal really, adverts with its feedback system is more reliable but not the same stock of cars

Maybe he went out on a mad session at various €9 meal establishments and is recovering, try him again at 6pm. Could have lost their phone too, try email to the ad.

You get this from both buyers and sellers these days. It may have been sold or flipped and the seller didn't do the courtesy of texting you to let you know. Happens too with buyers saying they will turn up for a viewing only never to hear from them again. People are so comfortable with being anonymous these days that they just don't give a **** about the inconvenience to the other person.

Is the car still up on donedeal? Try ringing from a different number.

Just move on to the next car. It's like a woman if she doesn't reply or return your call most likely not interested, just move on to the next. It's ok to get your heart broken but you have to move on.

If he doesn't want the sale just move on to another car

In any case, went to look at another car this evening and deal done. His loss

Was just wondering if it can be common or if i got unlucky which it seems to be

From experience, anyone that does that, even if they come along afterwards and make excuses, walk away.

What they're selling will either be an absolute heap, or they'll be delusional in what they're looking for it.
