I'm currently considering switching my isp to eir. I will need them to run a cable from the box on the road to my home. I have two cat 5e cables ran to the connection box on the side of my house and I have a dict that has a rope in it. I'm wondering will they connect to the ethernet cables in the box or will they run their cable straight into the home. I would prefer if they made their connection in the box as I have my cables ran to a patch panel feeding multiple rooms do I would like the router to be put here. I also don't want them to drill a hold in my wall when there is no need.

Termination needs to be inside the dwelling, AFAIK its against their procedures to install it externally.

Can they not join the two cables outside and then terminate where I have the other end of the cable

They could put jelly clips in your external and then mount the NTU inside, whether the tech you get will/wont I cannot say. KNN will be sent back and won't be paid if your cable is garbage. You'll say its not but so will everyone.

Same setup as myself (butwill be a long time until I can get fibre)
They'll need power for their ONT/NTU so unlikley they can install in the external telco box.

Suppose all I can do is ask the tech. If not i could bring in my cable to the back of their box and join my cable there. I could then move the modem
