tractor already has a free flow return connected but I havent used it for years and have forgotten how it works. Need to use it for a malone log splitter.

Do i put the spool valve to single acting, plug in one hose into this and the other into the return free flow. ANd then put the spool valve on constant pump? Should the flow be turned down in the spool valve in order to now burn out the pump?

Yes, that’s basically it. Just make sure you have the correct hose plugged into the correct connection...I don’t know if it’s necessary to turn down the flow of the spool or not...
