Health insurance & orthopaedic cover (LAYA v. VHI)

It’s renewal time and I’m back to where I was last year. Then, I stayed with VHI because I had ticked the automatic renewal box the previous year before I realised that all VHI policies only offered a max of 80% cover on orthopaedic issues. That could land me with a hefty 20% bill that I really don’t want to risk.

Laya, however, seems to be the sole insurer in Ireland that gives 100% orthopaedic cover - and it’s pretty much the same price as my VHI policy. Is there any snag to this LAYA offer? Why doesn’t any other insurer offer 100% orthopaedic cover?

I would really only be leaving VHI for that improved orthopaedic cover as VHI has been quite suitable for me and the app, clinic, health programme, quick refunds, etc are very handy.

You will be happy with these at Laya.

I don't it is 100% on every orthpaedic procedure.
It is a only a few in specific hospitals in seems according to their site.

Would rather be wrong about this as they do advertise full cover
