Ballykisteen a LOT stronger than Thurles

    Not joking.

Yes it’s a fine track but nothing more. Ballykisteen is aesthetically nice and a tougher challenge.

Play both a lot (convenience really) and I rate Ballykisteen far higher than Thurles.

Not sure what warrants the ‘U must be joking’ hyperbole.

I'm just back from Donegal. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Rented an air bnb, and played narin (€35 open) , portsalon (€50 gui rate) and cruit (€20 9 hole). Value was it incredible. I was tempted with that Portmarnock offer, but if I can play those three four €105 it's hard to justify Portmarnock for €150.

But the courses and the views are fabulous. I'd go back again next week if I could.

There was one on Wednesday. I don't know if it's weekly.
