Hi everyone, so immobiliser fixed and it's onto the next issue

Bike ran out of juice yesterday while out and about, when to turn over and nothing. Thought it was linked with the immobiliser. Jump started it and off I went.

Down to it today and thankfully started after a second of struggle. But noticed a burning smell. With a bit of investigation, found it is coming from the rectifier/regulator below rad., can see a tiny flame from the side of it. This is fairly concerning.

Not sure if anyone has had similar issues, if there is any advice on knowing if it's done or 'smoked':pac:?

    Bike is a Suzuki GSR600

    Thanks as ever!

If you can see a flame bin it! Any electrical component + burning smell and flame = major trouble.
Bin it and get another one op.
The r/r are known to sh/t the bed so bin and replace, check the stator two they've been known to get fubared because of it.

It sir, has released the pixies, and is dead. Chances are it took the battery and you need to investigate the wiring for it to and from the stator, earth and wires running to and from solenoid.
Get a lidl multimeter, switch to 20v, red on red and black on black and if below 12. 3v she's likely a goner. Do she or did she smell of fish?
Get onto a gsr forum and search for "mosfet". If you are in cork/Limerick I can help sort this for ya. Couple hrs should have it running again. Have a couple mosfets kicking about also.
    Good luck.
