New house - home network incomer cables

    Hi All,

Recently moved into a new build house where there is RJ45 and coax sockets in each of the 4 bedrooms, living room and hallway. I checked the utility room and opened up the panel to find Cat 6 cables and coax cables labelled for every room - happy days. However, there is also 2 Cat 6 cables taped together and 2 coax cables taped together, both labelled with “incomer” written on them.
While the house was built with virgin and eir prewired and their respective boxes on the wall in the living room, are these incomer cables another entry point for them? For instance, can I move my virgin modem/router combi unit from the living room and hook it up to theses “incomer” cables?

p.s. Not sure is there any way I can post images here to show ye what I mean..

We can't really tell what the sparks did. If you have a white external panel like what might enclose a gas meter you may find the far ends within. They may also be common'd to the prewired drops, get a multimeter and check for voltage across any pairs on the CAT6/UTP. If any are live thats likely a phone line.
