Dual corded desk phones

Hi,
I have a corded phone + handset combo ( a Panasonic KX-TGF320E ).
However I was wondering if it's possible to get 1 corded deskphone + 1 wireless deskphone?

We only have one telephone connection (the existing corded phone is connected to that) and the handset is elsewhere. I understand one corded/wireless would need to be the base unit, but that's fine, I just couldn't find any for sale? It seems to be either one corded or one corded & 1+ handsets.

I'm looking for 1 corded deskphone + 1 wireless deskphone.

I'm confused .. what would be the advantage to having a wireless desk phone as opposed to the wireless handset shown?

Presumably there is a DECT basestation in the desktop phone, so you should be able to add further handsets to the basestation.

According to the info from your link you can have 6 DECT handsets ......

Great thanks. So basically I need to get a phone with one of those aerials? It won't need a telephone line because it'll be connetced to the base unit desk phone in the same way that the handset is?

That is the idea ...... but maybe you should ensure that whatever phone you choose is suitable for connecting to the existing base station you have.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the base phone (where the connection is) and handset phone are far apart and I don't want to start running a cable if at all possible.

Thanks for that. The base station is the KX-TGF320E I mentioned. Is there a way of knowing that a new phone, say the ALCATEL you linked to, is compatible?

I just choose that phone as an example of what I thought you were looking for.
I did not mean to imply anything regarding its suitability.
I have no experience of using it.
No doubt there are many others also available, so you should search around.

Sellers of these should have the required information to ensure that whatever you get fits right in with your existing set up.

Ah I know you weren't suggesting that particular model, I was just wondering if there was some kind of "DECT compatibility standard", as there is for wireless 802.11 for example.

Thanks for your info anyway. At least I know the type of thing I'm looking for. It's a pity Panasonic don't make additional deskphones as well as additional handsets for their models!. I'll try to find a specialised communication company that could assist. Thanks!
