I want to get a budget tablet with stylus functionality. There is a Tab 10 with S pen available (SM - P580)

Does anyone have that particular one that would have any views on it? The recent Tab 10 doesn’t seem to be able to use the S pen.

The SM-P580 is a really old tablet, about 4 years old I think. The S6 Lite has pen functionality, would that be an option or too far out of your price range? There's a new tablet due out soon so the older ranges should plumet in price. I still use a S3 and S4 regullarily and they are great systems.

    I've had the 2014 note 10.1 s-pen and currently have the 2019 8" S-pen.

Went with the 8" thinking it would be better suited to reading textbooks and notation of .pdfs and e-books
It does the job, but if readability matters?
My advice would be go with an amoled screen.

The only downsides I have had with the 8", lack of root (use it to add cloud storage as a drive ;) via a magical module) and reading comfort of the LED due to light bleed.

As has been said, the s6 lite has spen functionality, if it has amoled that's where I'd head.

Thanks. There’s one going for €250 so I might go with that. It wouldn’t be heavy usage - basically for storing in the cloud and accessing office docs when I’m out and about during the day. I can upgrade in a year or two if necessary and give that one to the kids to play/break.
