    hi all,

I have a lawn thats very uneven, and I think it needs a fair amount of top soil brought in as I need to even it up and stop the swimming pool that I get annually in it.

Could someone tell me how I work out how much topsoil I need ?

    thanks

simply adding topsoil may not help with drainage. you might need to sort that first. what sort of garden is it, and what size?

so its not easy to see it but there are large enough dips in this garden, particularly in the area behind the apple tree in the middle, I estimate its about 4 inches from bottom to the top ( at bottom of tree line at end of garden ) and it creats a large pool of water when it rains

I've no idea what I need to do to fix the drainage, the soil is heavily compacted here - maybe long drainage trenches ? but to soak where ?

    thanks
