Barry Lang ex 2FM is a pilot for Emirates.

Ryan Phillips formerly of Spin1038 is a trademark lawyer (under his real name, Brian Conroy)

I would consider those to be as normal a job as retail.

A weekend only presenter often has a day job the entire time, anyway. Barry and Ryan/Brian went from fulltime radio to different jobs

Aaron Burchael TippFM is a photographer now

I often wonder what do weekend presenters on the bigger stations do during the week? Namely Today FM and 2FM..

Or are they paid very well for their weekend shows, that they dont have to work during the week?

Ruth Scott was getting 30k for doing Saturday and Sunday afternoons on 2fm at the time of her axing according to her Court case transcript.

I wonder what the rate is now for music weekend presenters on RTE such as Lillian Smith, Chris and Ciara etc.?

Wow, I didn't know "Ryan Phillips" wasn't his real name! You learn something new every day.

He would be amongst the youngest using a stage name I'd guess; it really died out.

Will Leahy was a solicitor in Limerick during the week before being on 2fm at the weekends.

Still is AFAIK, hence why he used to present 2fm drive time and RTÉ Gold breakfast from Lyrics Limerick Base.

With regards 2fm weekend workers, Carl Mullan works for RTÉ lifestyle website producing various online content.

    This too shall pass.

He popped up on Liveline last year.

He suffered quite a serious brain injury and has serious mobility problems.

I think he was doing photography lecturing in Dundalk IT for a few years after his show got axed from Today FM. I think he may have lost his lecturing gig in the last couple of years too unfortunately, although he's still listed on their website.

He's definitely still involved in music though as Skid X said. He does a lot of work with the videographer Myles O'Reilly.

Mark Byrne did the same left radio to become a pilot,

Random useless information. Mark Byrne kept up part time presenting for a while with a different radio station. He eventually left and left a model jet airliner behind. The station was on the top floor and had moved to a different location, I went in one last time and found his model plane. It looked aerodynamic... did I mention the station was several floors high and was on the top floor. There was a building across from the back of the building... and it made it across. :) I did say it was random, useless information.

Donal Dineen turned up on TXFM for Bank Holiday specials if memory serves me right.

After a gap, while Mark Byrne concentrated on his new career, he turned up for a spell as a presenter on Lite FM/Q102. Then Mark was part of the original lineup of 4FM, which he did until December 2010. Last year, Mark was a presenter on Christmas FM - the first time I had heard him on the radio in nine years.

I heard him interviewed a few years ago and he didn't sound good. His speech had deteriorated and wasn't good enough for radio any more :(

Michael Murphy. Newsreader - now a psychotherapist- appears regularly on day time TV in that professional capacity

Mike Murphy of The Arts Show fame (considering this is radio) went into property development I think.

Thelma Mansfield (was she only TV?) became a professional artist.

Mark Cagney went from late night radio to day time TV3

He was putting on an accent and said his name was “Patrick” but you could tell it was him.
