Hi all, can anyone help me here.
I've recently bought an 09 Mazda 6 2.2 Sport and this morning the DPF light started flashing. From looking at the hand manual I checked the engine oil as this is what the manual said is the issue. The engine oil is just above the X Mark so there is too much oil in the sump, it's like it has become diluted. Is this a major issue? I'm going to book her in for oil and filter change tomorrow but wondering what has caused it to become diluted and cause the dpf light to flash on? Any help would be greatly appreciated 😊

Your in trouble I think , huge thread on here as well as online about the mazda 2.2d and the dpf failing to regen causing the oil level to rise in sump due to excess diesel being in the sump.

Unfortunately they are a terrible engine and it probably won't be good news long term for you.

The guy has had to cancel the thread as he was advised by solicitor.

    It's messy.

He bought the car and it's pumped diesel into the sump numerous times and the regen aren't carrying out.

Mazda don't do diesel but petrol they do well....

    Absolutely dirt.

sorry for your trouble OP, but I'd be looking for ways to get rid of the car.

Mazda diesel bring on the dpf light when an oil change is due as standard. This usually only requires an oil change but also a counter reset using suitable diagnostics without this reset the light will remain on and no farther regens will take place leading to more severe problems. Mazda suffer with dilution which leads to the oil level rising on the dipstick. They even put a third mark on the dipstick to indicate the max max level. Trouble trouble

Thank you for your response. We did find a way of getting the light to turn off. We bought the car to the mechanics, he changed filters and oil and said we need to get the DPF cleaned. I'm considering getting the dpf blanked and remapped as suggested on this post, but I'm not sure if this will stop this problem from happening in the future. I feel really deflated because I'd put every penny I had away during my time being laid off from work as my old car died on me, so managed to pick the Mazda up just before I was due to go back to work... The car to me was perfect in every way until this happened and now all I'm hearing is they are dirt!! I feel so ripped off 😭😣

It's widely known, they're trouble and have been for a very long time.
Petrol engines are grand but their diesel are pure dirt.

I honestly wouldn't be putting any money into a 2009.....
Sell her on and buy something much more reliable.
